How to Use Gps Without a Data Connection on Android: 5 Steps

Sometimes you won't always be travelling to an area that has an Internet connection available. In these situations, it's a good idea to download some maps for offline use.
STEPS

1
HIT THE "APPS" BUTTON ON YOUR ANDROID AND THEN SELECT "MAPS."

2
CLICK THE MENU BUTTON AND SELECT "MAKE AVAILABLE OFFLINE."

3
SCROLL THROUGH THE MAPS SCREEN UNTIL YOU FIND THE MAP YOU\'RE GOING TO NEED. Make sure it's full framed within the square. Click "done" in the bottom right.

4
CLICK WHERE IT SAYS "OFFLINE" UNDER "MY PLACES."

5
SELECT THE OFFLINE MAP WHEN YOU\'RE READY TO USE IT.
TIPS
One of the best ways to use this feature is by first calling up some directions you'll need, and then zooming out so that all of the directions are within the square. You can then download all of your directions at once for offline use.
